Executive Protection Advance Techniques and Measures
|
Introduction
- Goal:
The agent who precedes the arrival of a Principal or Client
should strive to make complete and effective security /
transportation arrangements. He has the ultimate authority
and responsibility to ensure that the security measures put
in place are appropriate for the risks while also meeting
the principal's requirements.
- Purpose:
As a Security/ Police or transportation agent our job starts
much before the initial visit. First and foremost we gather
information as it relates to the detail. The emphasis of the
security program is to prevent and to be proactive by planning,
excellent pre-advance and advance preparation. These elements
can be the difference between success and failure.
Scope of an Advance
2.1 Limit unnecessary exposure of your client
2.2 Control the environment around your principal
2.3 Monitor Access to your client - create checkpoint
2.4 Gather appropriate information
2.5 Organize detail members
2.6 Prepare for client's facilitation and comfort
2.7 Brief appropriate personnel
2.8 Create relationships with assets
2.9 Analyze and familiarization of routes and places of interest
- Guideline Statement:
3.1 Prevent fatal or intended injury
Identify persons of interest (POI), both domestically and on
the international arena and or anniversary dates that may
create a disturbance or opportunity for martyrdom.

Characteristics of an Executive Protection Specialist
|
|
So you want to get involved in the Executive Protection industry. Upon
applying to someone’s team, what is it that you will be bringing to
the table. For instance do you have any protection experience in the
Domestic or International theatres? Are you a former local or Government
law enforcement official or someone with a military background? What
kind of specialized training have you acquired other than
self-defense/martial arts type programs. While extensive study within
the arts certainly gives a discipline to draw from, have you also
involved within your curriculum; advance work, tactical medical
procedures, awareness skills, and FBO protocol, transportation issues
as well as close protection etiquette. These are but a few of the
subjects that you would have to be very well schooled in to create a
solid foundation within the industry. Because someone’s life is in your
hands it is not a on the job training type profession. Need to learn
more see us at the next seminar Until then stay safe...
